Mortal Kombat Making a Comeback
"Mortal Kombat", the film franchise launched from the video game of the same title, will be getting a reboot. New Line will be releasing the film with Kevin Tancharoen directing.

The reboot comes after the success of "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth", a short film that Tancharoen directed. The film generated over 10 million hits on YouTube, and spawned a ten episode series titled "Mortal Kombat: Legacy". That, too was a success with over 15 million visitors.  

The film will be written by Oren Uziel. Uziel wrote "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth". It is said that this film will be going in a different direction that the digital shorts.

There are no actors signed on for the project yet.
